The fire house that responds to Marquette fires will lose a fire truck and an estimated fifteen jobs that go with it, if the current budget proposal is enacted. Captain Dick Kaiser said that response time will not be affected, but there still can be residual effects.

Marquette Radio's second Rock-a-Thon starts this Wednesday with an improv show in the Alumni Memorial Union. MU Radio will host events each night from Wednesday until Saturday while broadcasting for 72 hours straight. Proceeds support the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, and participants that donate money qualify to win prizes.

Active Minds hosts Mental Illness Awareness Week

Active Minds is holding various events focused on mental illness awareness this week. Events will include speakers, a movie and personal accounts. The goal of the week is to break the stigmas surrounding mental illness. Half of all college students rate their mental health as below average or poor, according to a 2004 study by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
