The results of the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primaries have only added drama to the historic 2008 presidential election and have made expectations murkier.
With the race for the 2008 presidential candidacy underway, it can be easy to watch the television and get caught up in all the media hype and propaganda. But some students are taking it a step further by participating and getting involved with the early election processes such as the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary.
Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) seems to be popular with Wisconsin politicians. Gov. Jim Doyle endorsed Obama two days after the Illinois senator won the Iowa caucus. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett endorsed the senator in April.
As the Supreme Court juggles an Indiana law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls, confidence in Wisconsin's system of voter ID has been questioned.
Gov. Jim Doyle has the authority to slice sentences and words to create new paragraphs and change financial figures in what is being described as the "Frankenstein Veto," said state Sen. Sheila Harsdorf (R-River Falls). The veto has been in place in Wisconsin since 1931, but it might not be around for very long.
